I don’t think so. I would think most doctors could easily tell the difference between strep and flu.

But one of the characteristics of this flu is an extremely sore throat and a peculiar hoarseness.

Doctor’s wouldn’t cooperate though. They wouldn’t let Strep go untreated.

Thanks for the advice - as you may have guessed from my previous posts, I have plenty of Gaterade, broth, soups, immodium, etc. on hand! ;)

All for naught - this time! She didn't have strep, or the flu. Just a regular virus. Once her dose of Advil kicked in she found her self hungry after skipping lunch. A turkey sandwich and two hotdogs and a bowl of corn later she wasn't quite so hungry! Kids!

The other night when she was feeling sick and her brother brought up the flu she said “I'm tough - I can beat it. Remember when I was 3 and I beat pneumonia! I can handle it.”

I agreed with her, but in the back of my mind.......
