Don't take this too seriously (well, not too much, up to where it's worth...) Those five days are what's known in Mexico as a
puente. When some holiday is near to a weekend nobody works anyway. There's even legislation to ensure the
puente will happen if the holiday's
in the weekend.
I wish I were making this up.
