Thatcher's last book, Statecraft (which is NOT co-authored, by the way) is a master-class in world geopolitical strategy and diplomacy. I don't know if Palin has even written a recipe for her school bake sale.

Well, we knew you were a pro-homo poll-monkey, but now you reveal yourself as a Palin-hating snob as well?

What exactly is your purpose on FR, anyway?

Palin might be a nice lady and she is a conservative, but one thing that ticks me off is that she is too much into lip gloss and sexy boots yet she hasn’t developed herself the way a Margret Thatcher has. It seems like Palin prefers to rely on lip gloss and sexy boots, and that kind of bothers me, being that I am a woman myself who knows all about lip gloss. I think lip gloss is great, but I resent the idea of someone like Palin relying on it to take her so far. The woman even bragged about her lipstick at the convention, that was really not too far from the truth. And it’s a little bit disturbing.

"Considering that Thatcher had no real world experience before becoming a politician I’d say Sarah actually has Thatcher beat in her current point in her career.

Margaret Thatcher had no real world experience? What are you talking about?

There are close to do dozen Thatcher biographies. I suggest you pick up a copy and read one. As I said, Thatcher not only received an education at arguably the finest college in the world, but she has a number of advanced degrees including training as a lawyer (barrister).

Furthermore, Thatcher wasn't born into British aristocracy. She had extremely modest roots in what might be described as a lower-middle class upbringing. Her father didn't even graduate from high school. He worked his way from the bottom of a grocery store to become a small business owner.

Thatcher separated herself from her grade school and high school classmates on an intellectual level. This is what gave her entry to Oxford, not a family pedigree or a inherited trust. Thatcher had a tremendous love of books and other literature and was a voracious reader. When asked what books Palin liked to read, she couldn't name ONE.

Thatcher worked as a chemist (certainly a "real world job"), for sometime before entering politics - a subject that she'd been interested in and studied for many years. After running for a vacant MP position, she won and she served for close to a dozen years before being appointed to a ministerial job. In addition to her work, education and Parliamentary and ministerial experience, one shouldn't forget the fact that she actually lived through WWII. An experience, especially when lived in Britain, maybe without an American parallel.

To date, we have nothing other than a few national interviews to evaluate Palin's intellectual heft. She needs to establish a much thicker and robust resume before anyone can begin to compare to Baroness Thatcher.

Good grief. You are practically retarded. No wonder a lady who doesn't read is you political hero. Fitting.

In addition to Sen. McCain and Gov. Bush, GOP sources familiar with the plans tell CNN others involved in the new group's "National Panel Of Experts" will include: [Barbour, Jindal and Romney]

It will report to GOP congressional leaders, and among those signing the announcement that will be made public Thursday are:...[Boehner, Cantor, Pence, McConnell, Kyl, Thune, and Alexander]

Ok, which one is "Joe" and which one is "Jane"?

I mean, which one of those people is representative of what the regular republican and conservatives out here are thinking and wanting to get done?

How the heck are the same faces and voices going to come up with "new" ideas and solutions? Repackaging the same old "liberal light" ideas ain't gonna get us back into the majority in congress or into the White House.

And, by the way, it is not new ideas that we need. What we need is for the republicans to return to the good old values represented by Reagan and the agenda set by the republicans running for congress in 1993-1994. That kind of set of values and agenda is what wins and what gets America straight again.

Anyone questioning Palin better sound like a Rhodes Scholar, meanwhile it is ok for Palin to sound like a High School Drop out? That kind of blind devotion isn’t working to win Palin more supporters. Though I do agree, Palin has enough support to take the nomination thanks to the devotees that she already has. She will never win the election to be President. Palin is a fantasy, people have built her up to mythical proportions yet the real Palin is not up to the job, she really does rely on things like sexy boots and lip gloss to get her where she has gotten. That is only enough to build a base of fans, it’s not enough to lead a country. Because anyone who not yet fallen for Palin’s shtick never will. Maybe this is the chickens coming home to roost, this country is too focused on sex appeal and there in lies Palin’s appeal. Conservatives should be more true to who they say they are then Palin wouldn’t have such the pull that she does. It will only empower people like Obama as he has no viable opposition. But I guess it keeps the base happy. How sad!

Hey, we need some Liberal trolls to keep us sharp. It’s boring preaching to the choir all the time.

'Okay Monkey, which one are you? McCain or Romney?

Which one am I. I'm the Republican that has actually volunteered for the GOP. I've actually spent time, nights, weekends vacations organizing and recruiting for the GOP. How much elbow grease do you have in the game?

I'm also the guy that values an education and appreciate people that separate themselves from the pack with scholarly works and intellectual achievement. Sadly, it appears that I'm a dying breed in the GOP, at least amongst it's base.

Sarah Palin won't even go on a single Sunday morning talk show - not once, not during the campaign and not since. That is absolutely pathetic. And yet, some people have bought into the incredibly undeserved hype and see her as the second coming of Reagan or Thatcher. Ridiculous on it's face and just what Obama ordered for four more years.

How in denial, the answer about Putin rearing his head was not the job of editing. That is only the after the fact, “Clintonista” spin to give Palin’s supporters something to hold on to. People can and will spin anything, Dontcha get it?!!! The problem is spin don’t work on this here puppy. I remember the Clinton years too well, and I don’t like the tactic not one bit!!!!

they are ignoring her.

She was never supposed to be anything but a token woman stunt. McCain was pawned with the mythical PUMA vote. McCain picked a woman as a lame effort to solicit women voters.

McCain picked palin as a nobody he thought he could control. He figured the abortion stance would shut up the nusance conservatives in mccain’s eyes.

The beltway effete elites only want people in their clique to matter. The beltway effete elites are just looking for magic words to get elected.

Mere words will achieve nothing. POOP by any other name is still POOP, McCain by any brand is a loser.

Are you trying to suggest that our beloved Constitution and our freedoms and liberties are to only be understood and appreciated by people with higher education? Are we to sit back and wait for their interpretations to come from on high?

Our institutions of higher education are no longer that of education and learning but of liberal indoctrination and illiteracy. They are money mills. We can hardly lay claim that a person from Princeton with a Marxist viewpoint is of much intellectual value beyond a high school drop out.

Thatcher’s benefit did not come from her university studies. They came from her common sense approach that she no doubt learned from her modest upbringing. The same can be said of Reagan.

Snobbery is not an American value.

It was reported on a different site that she was invited but never responded.

If memory serves me, I saw Cantor on FOX a short time ago explaining that they hadn't invited Palin yet.

“Sadly, it appears that I’m a dying breed in the GOP, at least amongst it’s base.”

Narcissism is not a conservative value, maybe a Republican political one, but certainly not a conservative one. You are hardly anyone I would consider of a higher intellect. You may be so self absorbed as to think you are but you are neither that important nor impressive. Far more people on this web site have given far more than you can possibly claim but we don’t hear such conceit from them.

You must be a Gen-Xer. They usually think more of themselves than anyone else.

"Are you trying to suggest that our beloved Constitution and our freedoms and liberties are to only be understood and appreciated by people with higher education?

No. I'm suggesting that someone who wants to lead the greatest nation on earth doesn't sound like they just walked off the set of the Beverly Hillbillies. What's more pathetic, is far too many people actually believe that's an endearing trait. When someone doesn't, they're labeled a narcissist or a snob. Please.

As for being a Gex-X'r, my ass. I spent 20+ years as a Marine Corps infantry officer. I'm hardly an Ivy League snob but I certainly don't want a commander-in-chief that doesn't understand that Africa isn't a country but a continent - as reported by Fox News Channel, not the Hufffington Post.

If you go toe-to-toe with lightweights like Katie Couric and Joe Biden and get your ass handed to you, you certainly don't have any business being a heart-beat from the Presidency.
