We absolutely agree on this point! I would add that we should not send money, we should send expertise. Alas, the zero administration already has proposed $1.5 Billion and the rubberstamp congress has approved it. The Mexican government is handing out masks (talismans) to their people instead of building the necessary healthcare procedures and infrastructure. They might as well give them lucky rabbit/chicken feet. While "conservatives" are screaming for an isolationist policy involving every port and border crossing.
There are several doctors from the United States already there trying to figure out why so many in Mexico are dying compared to other countries.
It's not like we are wanting Mexicans to die. It's that we don't want anymore diseases imported to this country that can be prevented.
Then we have some common ground. Good. I am not an isolationist however and neither are many conservatives. We are for enforcing our borders and now that this ‘crisis’ is here, we are more than a little frightened for our families. I live in a border state. I know what illegal immigration is costing Texas on a ‘normal day’.
Mexico was already in a ‘state of emergency’ before this happened...now they are streaming into this country carrying a potential pandemic disease and we are suppose to ‘keep our mouths shut’ or be called racists, isolationists, or heartless?
