One of Snowe’s backstabbing compadres is gone, just that much harder to undermine the party now.

Party affiliation means nothing. Specter and Snowe do not hold conservative core values.

Now would be a good time to get rid of all the RINOs so we don’t have to start a third party.

Snowe said the Republican Party never learned its lesson from the "painful" party switch of Sen. Jim Jeffords in 2001.

Actually it was Jumping Jim Jeffords who betrayed the GOP and the Republican voters who voted for him. He deliberately handed Congress to the Democrats like a bitter punk hope he got his 30 pieces of silver.

Specter isn’t a Democrat or a Republican.

He’s an opportunist who has always and will continue to sell his Senatorial vote to the highest bidder.

In other words he is a @@&*%(&.

What is the conservative path to victory?

It is called winning by losing.

Snowe said the Republican Party never learned its lesson from the "painful" party switch of Sen. Jim Jeffords in 2001.

In a way, she's right. Jeffords was made chairman of an important committee, even though he lacked seniority, because the GOP leadership wanted to show the world that they were a "big tent". Jeffords returned the favor by leaving the party and throwing the Senate to the 'Rats.

BTW, we keep hearing about how monolithic and intolerant the GOP is, but is there even one conservative Democrat in the Senate? Ben Nelson of Nebraska is a moderate, but that's about it. Of the sixty Senate 'Rats, 56 are flaming leftists, three are predominantly liberal but cast an occasional conservative vote (Byrd, Webb, and Landrieu), and Ben Nelson is a centrist. How is that more ideologically diverse than the Senate GOP, who prior to Specter's switch had three leftist members and maybe nine or ten moderates?

Just a note to all those here who say “let Snowe go too”.Having lived in New England all my life I know a little bit about how things are here.If Snowe...Collins...Chaffee,etc...vote with Republicans even 5% of the time...it's a net plus to us.Why? Because I can assure you that there's not a RAT in all of New England who would *ever* vote correctly and there's not a true Republican here who could *ever* win a governor's race or a House or Senate race.

Sad as it is,that's exactly how things are here today. So any elected official from New England who votes correctly even occasionally is a Godsend.

Talk to Specter. He could put in a good word for you and that might become very good news for Republicans. And see if Collins would join you.

“Specter didn’t vote with the Reps anyway, so does it really matter?”

In a way, yes. If the Senate were 51/49 in favor of the Repubs it would mean that the Repubs get the committee chairmanships, and pretty much control of the agenda. Only in that respect is Spectre important.

Spectre: Special Executive for Crime Terror Revenge and Extortion.

Snowe(and likewise Collins) is probably devastated because she didn't do it first. She is now virtually worthless in how she votes. They now have their 60 votes. With a dem House, and Hussein in the White House, they own this thing. Too bad all we can do is sit back and watch them destroy the country, while getting rave reviews in the liberal media as they are doing it. Our idiot voters will probably reward them all with reelection and even further expanded majorities. If the people out there don't wake the hell up, and fast, we are seriously looking at a one party ruled country.

This isn't like when the republicans controlled the legislative and executive branches, because the dems almost always fall in line and push their agenda by any means necessary, while their wicked legislative tactics go unreported by the liberal media. When the Republicans were in 'control', it was only on paper. The Republicans had saboteurs in their ranks(including the president) that watered down, compromised, and undermined the agenda. There is no such thing in play with the dems in power. God help us all....

They’ve already got the majority so losing another few RINOs won’t mean much to the GOP.
