By switching parties, Specter will be forced to be a good soldier to Reid, Pelosi, Obama and the real General, George Soros. So much for what Washington warned against.

The deal has been cast.. there will be no Dem primary in Pennsylvania... Specter will be the Dem candidate..

As I stated earlier..all this does today is to ensure that Pat Toomey start bringing in MILLIONS of dollars into his campaign coffers from conservative groups across the country.

What’s going to be damming for Specter is not more than a month ago he was quoted in the Hill Magazine as stating that he was not considering switching to the Democrats because he stated that he felt he “had a role to play within the Republican Party” and that he feared we were moving towards a “one-party system” in our government and that wasn’t healthy for the country.

Specter has signed his political death certificate.

I have not represented the Republican Party.

We need a republican equivalent of an ACORN in Pennsylvania to make sure this (former) RINO doesn't get back in in 2010.

I know, Acorn does a lot of dubious things, some of them probably illegal, but I don't care. If Acorn doesn't get punished for their "illegal" or unethical acts, then a republican equivalent should be able to get away with the same misdeeds.

The joke is on him. The tent is tiny on the left.

The Administration already sent word to key congressional Democrats who differed with the Administration on any issue that they were “keeping score.”

Is that because you think the people of Maine will elect conservatives? Collins and Snowe are already Dems and should be treated as such. If they are replaced with Dems, it makes no difference.

I don't like them parading as conservatives...it gives us a bad name.

This guy's to stupid to be a Senator. Ah, but if you think HE'S dumb, what do you say about people like Boxer, Collins, Snowe, Patty (Osama's Daycare) Murray, and Ted Kennedy, who got kicked out of Harvard not once but TWICE for cheating?

Watch for Specter to soon get a ride on Air Force One with Osama as they buzz the skyscrapers of Lower Manhattan. They'll both think they died and went to(RAT) heaven.

No his statement is, "I'm here and they will carry me out when I die, I'm king, do you hear me I'm King." The man like many others is ready for the rubber room.

I now find my political philosophy more in line with Democrats than Republicans.

His "political philosophy" consists of nothing more than remaining in power, which he judged to be impossible in the Republican party.

EVERYTHING IS NOW OFFICIALLY THE DEMOCRATS FAULT! YIPPEE!

There is sunshine in every cloud.

What worries me far more than which party is in control is the ever increasing size of the population that not only is ok with SOCIALISM, but actually feel America is evil, Capitalism is evil, and we should be a SOCIALIST nation. That is what scares me, not which party is running the show - although obviously conservatives do not want to be pushed in this direction.

I don't think anyone but the most brain-dead Maine liberal (but again, I repeat myself) is EVER going to consider Snowe or Collins anywhere near conservative.

Why didn’t the MSM make it a headlines when many Dems switched to the Rep. party?

It is easier to switch parties, than to actually stand for something. Now the Socialists will have nothing in their way to completely turn this county into a Socialist Paradise they envision. But they have forgotten one very important thing; most of the people in this country do not want to live in a socialist country and will do what is necessary to stop it. 2010 might seem like a long way off but it will get here sooner rather than later.

Right ON. I am so tired of the sweetness and light, and always taking the high road (as GWB did). GWB had more than ample opportunity to knock down the MSM and their LIES, but what did he do? We all know............

Don’t be too sure that Toomey can’t get elected to that seat. Specter’s actions today are going to tick off a considerable large amount of the electorate in Pennsylvania who saw him as so called “independent” voice.

Specter just a month ago was professing in the Hill Magazine how he felt he had a “role to play in the Republican Party” and that he felt we were slipping towards a “one-party system” and how that was dangerous for the country.

He’s shredded his credibility...and in a state like Pennsylvania with its blue collar work ethic..your word is your bond...and Specter just violated his word.

“...obviously conservatives do not want to be pushed in this direction.”

That direction is off a cliff. If they keep pushing, the entire country goes over the edge. At this point, I’m no longer convinced that pushing the country over the edge is a bad thing, if you catch my drift.
