sphincter’s lapdog, radio dj smerconish, was pimping an annual ABC poll that stated only 21% of Americans polled identify themselves as Republican- the lowest percentage on record. A few folks called in with various points as to why this might be the case. smerconish kept hammering that it was likely due to the GOP’s tilt to the far right, which has turned off a lot of moderate voters, including himself. With specter’s announcement, it makes sense why smerconish kept harping on that point.
That is pure BS! It's the other way around. It's due to the fact that Republicans are acting like Democrats instead of Republicans that's turning people off! Just look at what ran for a so-called Republican President last time. How did that turn out for us?! It wasn't until Sarah Palin joined McCain that he got a shot in the arm (so to speak)! Can you imagine what his numbers would have been without her? Obama landslide.
