Those who choose to live outside of the law should not be granted advantage over those who live within the law by foolish, self-serving, pompous politicians. By granting them protections they haven't earned obama has given terrorists more protection than he is providing for the citizens who elected his fool a$$.

There is a danger here that Sowell skirts but doesn't explore. Zero and his minions themselves are "living outside the law". Our gummint feels in no way constrained by our COnstitution and hasn't for decades. If "We the People" are to be expected to be constrained by law so must our gummint. The contract is broken and not by us. If gummint isn't constrained, then neither are we. Legally, ethically, morally we are under no constraints whatsoever. What we have now is just rule by the biggest group of thugs and right now it is the libs who have the military convinced that we are still living under the old contract. It is an illusion that won't last. Only God knows how things are going to shape up in the near term but I get a sense that it might be ugly.
