MIRAMAR (CBS4) ― One of the oldest and largest credit unions in South Florida has fallen victim of the dismal economy. Eastern Financial Federal Credit Union, founded 72 years ago to provide financial services to employees of now-defunct Eastern Airlines, was placed under federal conservatorship late Friday afternoon.

...

This means the NCUA has taken control of the credit union, according to Swann. Officials from Space Coast Credit Union of Melbourne were appointed to temporarily manage day-to-day operations.

Ah, spring!

Another “green shoot” of recovery poking its little head above the snows of recession... eh Bambi?

They were failing before Obama was elected.

>> They were failing before Obama was elected.

From the evidence in the article, if what you say is true, then all of the banks and bank holding companies were “failing before Obama was elected”. But Bambi promised us that his measures would make everything OK. Not only that, but he has already come out to assure us that everything IS ok.

So what’s your point?

Really? I remember him coming out saying that it would take many years for Porkulus to work (in other words it wouldn’t work at all). Obama may be bad, but it was W who got us in this mess.

Don’t you remember Bambi talking up the economy, saying there were “glimmers of hope”? Bernanke’s “Green shoots of recovery”? It wasn’t that long ago. Google “green shoots bernanke”.

I’m poking fun at their phony “if we talk it up the problem will go away” attitude, that’s all.

I don’t disagree that we have W (and, worse, Congress) to blame as a root cause.

They were failing before Obama was elected.

That's why everyone voted for HOPE and CHANGE. Well, not much CHANGE, but we keep a HOPING!

but it was W who got us in this mess.

W was distracted by fighting the war on terror while all those rich, liberal Wall Streeters and Bankers (the ones that were publicly drooling for Obama) were raping and then destroying the global banking system. Check the donation reports. If you can blame Bush for anything, it was that he didn't get mean with these bastards.

Besides, Bush isn't president anymore. Obama is president and he hasn't a clue as to how to solve these problems. He wanted the job. He got himself elected. He is failing right now.

He wasn't distracted enough to make a humongous pitch for illegal aliens. Besides, it was clearly evident that he was an economic moron before 9/11.

No, but it was tremendous failure as president that allowed the most liberal member of the Senate to be elected president.
