WASHINGTON Everyone knows President Barack Obama can deliver a great speech, including the president himself, according to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
The paperback version of Reid's book, "The Good Fight," is coming out May 5 with an epilogue called "The Obama Era." Reid said he was impressed when Obama, then a freshman senator from Illinois, delivered a speech about President George W. Bush's war policy.
Reid, D-Nev., writes: "'That speech was phenomenal, Barack,' I told him. And I will never forget his response. Without the barest hint of braggadocio or conceit, and with what I would describe as deep humility, he said quietly: 'I have a gift, Harry.'"

He has the gift of reading a teleprompter. I will give him that.
He was gong to say “I have a dream” until he remembered that line had been spoken by a man who did not choose his color for poltical gain.
Somebody gave him that teleprompter as a gift?
“...I have a gift...” and he bought it, Harry, at the White House gift shop with his special employee discount on Michelle’s Discover Card (for the cash back).
I actually do think he has a gift. How else could we ever elect for President the most leftist senator with no experience and associations with people who would quash a top secret security clearance? He baffeled ‘em with BS.
It’s a gift all right and a dangerous one when the wrong person has it.
Pathological narcissism is a gift?

Okay. Everyone is allowed one boo-boo.
Heh
ROTFLOL
Can we regift Obama to France?
I cannot tolerate that sing-song cadence he uses when speaking, with a goofy inflection at the end of every sentence. It screams, “I AM A CON MAN!”.
There is the story of during the Roman processionals after their successful wars that a guy was tasked with standing next to the victorious General or Caesar or whatever and repeatedly telling him “you’re just a man”. This was to guard against hubris or the feeling that they were more like gods.
Obviously if you’re told often enough how brilliant you are by one and all, eventually you start to believe your own reviews. Unless you’re really smart or really well grounded.
Harry, I hope you saved your blue dress with Obama's gift on it.
The downfall of most liars is when they begin to believe their own fabrications.
Agreed!
Sen. Reid can give the country a great gift, if he chooses to not run for re-election, in 2010.
