Reports also indicate that those reporters making reports wouldn't know AF1 from a Piper Tri-Pacer.
Bottom line; an airplane is taking pictures.
BFD!
Everyone should stop jumping through their ass.
Well, except they were right this time—that was one of the AF1 birds.
I still want to know why the hell they’d use one of those instead of something smaller, unless the photo op they want is the VC-25 against the New York skyline...in which case, where was the other photo plane? Nobody reported anything but one four-engined jet and two fighter escorts.

Nope. Helicopters or professionally equipped smaller jets are the vehicles that take pictures. On the other hand, maybe AF1 is the SUBJECT that is being photographed. Even that stinks -- photographers doing the shooting wouldn't be doing it from a fighter jet.
I have to stick up for the people who were jumping through their asses. The ones who experienced 911 up close seeing a jetliner tailed by fighters buzzing their rooftops are likely to get just a bit puckered.
Fascinating. A self-declared ex-media guy who names himself "mindbender" can't figure out why lack of prior notification of a large commercial aircraft (AF1 or not) followed by a military fighter cruising at low altitude through Manhattan would be something most people would consider fully justified as alarming.
Not that I'm disagreeing with your choice of names. Just seeing more depth in it, is all.
I have been to the city many times since 9-11 and it is still weird to not see the towers as a reference from any where in the city and there is still some odd odor in the area.
