Did anyone hear something on CNN about General Honore saying this may have come from a lab?

I read that from posters on a forum dealing with influenza but could find nothing elsewhere.

It would require gene splicing in a lab and testing on human
subjects.

Or it would require humans, ducks and pigs to be in the smame environment with many cross infections of flu.

Kicker? Ducks and pigs are not raised together in Mexico. The outbreaks situs was La Gloria, Mexico, the town with the most violent drug cartels and highest murder rates in Mexico.Very curious.

Drug cartels would suggest frequent travelers. People traveling back and forth between pig and poultry areas?

That is smart.

Do you know how many wonderful gay people would be alive today if they had quarantined the first AIDS patients? Political correctness kills.

Props to them for trying but will this work? I thought that this has a long incubation period - so people who carry the virus wont have symptoms of any type.

Yes, and no. They are screening everyone for symptoms, fevers, etc., in addition to tracking the whereabouts of people who had been to Mexico, and surveying them with updates, information, checking their status, etc. etc.

This isn’t just because Japan has a smart population, but because Japan still has a survival instinct that reaches beyond political correctness (AKA a socially induced lie). All we’re doing about it so far is “asking” people whether they have the flu or not at the border. As if sick people can’t lie about their health.

Just an aside though, why has there only been a single call to seal the border with Mexico in light of this situation, and why has it been by a Democrat? Political correctness, a socially induced lie. Better study habits aren’t the only thing we could learn from the Japanese.

Very efficient.

That's certainly how it looks from here, thousands of miles away. The US looks helpless and needlessly self-handcuffed. Thank the liberals, once again!

You know, our enemies could engineer a fatal, fast spreading pandemic, and choose as its transmission vehicle, homosexual (or heterosexual for that matter), sex. Right there, the disease would somehow earn itself an inherent "civil right" and would increduluosly be "off limits".

It would be allowed to spread, because to try to stop it would impinge on people's "freedom" and protected statuses, and if directed toward one sexual orientation classification, it would somehow be hateful and discriminatory and taboo...despite the fact if not stopped it would KILL US ALL.

I think our jehadist enemies who may well have such technology at their disposal, to manufacture such nightmares, also have at their disposals an excellent reading of our social weakness, the corruption at the center of our very national being, called "POLITICAL CORRECTNESS" which is a byproduct of Liberalism, itself a mental disorder. What a brilliant opening for them to really give us a bloody nose, and capitalize on our own sickness to bring about out own destruction for the sake of some contrived large, higher, phony "good".

Outside of the endless earthquakes, and Kim Jong il's scud missiles pointed at our throats 24/7 now at nuclear capability, heck, it ain't such a bad place to cool one's heels while this thing takes it's toll elsewhere. /sarc black humor

Seriously folks, take lotsa zinc, wash your hands likes crazy, wear a mask, gargle a lot especially after being out in crowds, and avoid crowds in the first place.

I was dumbstruck when I was in Japan for 10 days and folks with the flu or colds walked around with surgical masks so as to not infect others.
How very civil.
Here many just cough without covering their mouths and blow their nose on the sidewalk.
Now what about gun ownership there?
