The Dominican Republic Lawmakers working on a new constitution for the Dominican Republic have voted overwhelmingly to protect life, specifying in the document that "the right to life is inviolable from conception until death."

The vote yesterday was 167-32 in the national legislature, which was responding to pressure from international pro-abortion groups seeking to expand their business operations into the Caribbean island nation.

"A true respect for human life is protecting it from the beginning, the Dominican Republic is ahead of America in building a society where all human life is truly respected," said Ignacio Reyes, director of Live Action San Jose.

His group was among several that sent representatives to the nation over the past month to explain the full impact of abortion.

A glimpse of basic morality in the chaos of a world that has abandoned the “self evident” rights that our forefathers considered to be core values... not subject to debate.
The Right to LIFE is not something that can be redefined based on opinion polls!

Praise God!

I only wish that some day, we here in America, could be that civilized.

Legitimate political power in the US is determined by majorities - and the majority of Americans now disagree with you. I’ll venture my opinion, that any political party which seeks to define life as beginning at conception, which will would outlaw a number of forms of contraception, will never win an electoral majority in the United States. Keep trying to legislate Catholic doctrine in a minority Catholic country and LOSE. Change hearts and you might have a chance to reduce the number of abortions.

Wrong!

Poll: Majority of Americans Disagree With Barack Obama on When Life Begins

Zogby International conducted the poll for WorldNetDaily and it questioned 1,099 likely voters from August 22 to 24.

The survey found 59 percent believe human life begins at conception,...

Legitimate political power in the US is determined by majorities...

And here I thought it was the rule of law. The Constitution.
