I met a man at a business meeting two days here in L.A. who arrived from Mexico City a few weeks ago — he was born there but is an American with dual citizenship — his ‘fiancee’ is in Mex. City at present and has a job high up in their govt. health organization.
She phoned him yesterday and said health researcher types from many countries around the globe are on scene there working on this entire situation and vaccines, etc.
He said that thus far in Mexico, this appears to be pretty much a ‘class’ issue, i.e., showing up in the poor rather than across the board. The valley that contains Mexico
City and surrounding areas houses some 35 MILLION people so one can see that what sounds like a lot of illness/death when put in perspective isn’t that bad — yet.
But...the fiancee said her govt. does expect this to spread and become far worse before it gets better. The fiancee said there are cases in Los Angeles now but not confirmed — they are confirmed in San Diego County and the other cities/states previously mentioned in reports.
Just heard ABC local news report we can expect some cases here because we are a “transportation hub.” No mention of the sanctuary city status...
