You’re falling into the trap that says certain demographics are locked into voting Democrat or supporting socialist policies. I refuse to accept that. I refuse to accept that is set in stone.

There is one major difference between the Irish dems of old and the illegal aliens of today; ideology. The Irish immigrants came legally from a country with little to offer, and wanted to BECOME AMERICANS so that they could create their own self-reliant American dream. To them, becoming an American was a blessing worth working very hard for.
The illegals seeking amnesty care little for Americans, American laws, or American customs. They are hard-core Marxists, and have been raised that way from birth. As a culture they have squandered the boundless oil and mineral wealth of Mexico in favor of violence, blame-gaming, and largesse. An overwhelmingly large percentage of them are career criminals, or think that the United States is illegally occupying Mexican land in the US southwest... and that that land should be taken back by Mexico. They spit on the American flag and everything that flag stands for.
The ONLY reasons they want to become American citizens are: A) fear of law enforcement, and; B) to vote themselves more public benefits from the federal government, which they will do BY VOTING DEMOCRAT. As such, the amnesty movement must be opposed at ANY NECESSARY COST.
I admire your optimism, and your post is inspiring. You will steadily refine and sharpen your conservative philosophical foundations over the next few years, and now is the time to get involved with campus and local conservative groups. Growing the grassroots movement is what needs to be done to reawaken conservativism in government, and to educate the electorate aross the nation. Grow your mind, grow your sphere, and you will igite the movement.
