First, my serious answer.

ER doctors, as well as military doctors, have to do triage all the time. Doing triage, in of itself, is a non-story.

The fact that the government is preparing a triage priorities list (that is apparently different than the standard one taught throughout med school) is very very troubling.

Second, my snarky answer.

The double-secret list also includes conservatives at the top of the list. (Think I’m all-the-way joking: You’ll note that those with full-blown AIDS are not listed)

Someone with AIDS would fall into the category of chronic disease, and that would decrease their chance of a positive outcome. In most cases, someone with equivalent need, would receive treatment first, because they would have a much higher probability of success.
