Former Governor Bill Owens' three children are inviting people to a meet-and-greet for former Republican congressman Scott McInnis, who's thinking about running for governor.
McInnis served in the U.S. House for six terms. He and a fellow West Slope Republican, state Sen. Josh Penry, have expressed interest running for governor next year.

Public Policy Polling shows McInnis beating Ritter 48-41
I can only hope Ritter goes down big. I also understand Tancredo has expressed interest in running. I hope we can field a strong slate of candidates for not only governor but also Bennet’s (Salazar’s) seat.
Good news. Ritter’s choice for the Senate isn’t polling strongly, either.

Colorado bump - McInnis would be an interesting candidate.
Let me guess, it’ll be a near tie, under 1000 vote win by the Republican. After a few weeks, the democrat takes his seat anyway.
bump for tracking
Scott McInnis is a REALLY good guy!
Maybe we can bring some sanity back to this state.
That would be nice.
He can win.
He would be a fine candidate. And I would love to see Bill “but fees aren’t taxes” Ritter go down in flames.
Bennet, potentially wading into a heated political debate a year before he runs for his first election, said Saturday he supports a path to citizenship for those in the country illegally.

Bennet wants to dodge a primary challenge. Hopefully, it’ll backfire next year.
I could get behind McInnis.
Who is on deck to take down Bennet? Beauprez is damaged goods and Tancredo might be too radioactive although I like them both.
Oh, come on? When have you EVER seen that happen?
/bitter, angry sarcasm, especially with the DU @$$holes who claim that WE steal elections
For the record, FR would have to buy a new, high capacity disk drive to document all the times this has happened.
Scott McInnis has better name recognition than Josh Penry which I believe explains the polls. However, McInnis ticked off the base when he quit mid-term and he’s closer to another Bill Owens than the more conservative Penry. Should be an interesting primary.
Hopefully we will not have another brutal primary.
