Obama: Ideas needed on tightening federal belt

President calls on workers to find ways to improve their agency's budget

WASHINGTON - Think you can do better than your federal boss? President Barack Obama wants to know how.

Obama on Saturday announced a plan for federal workers to propose ways to improve their agencies' and departments' budgets. The president said employees' ideas would be key as his Cabinet officials cut millions from the federal budget and trim the deficit.

"After all, Americans across the country know that the best ideas often come from workers, not just management," Obama said in his weekly radio and Internet address. "That's why we'll establish a process through which every government worker can submit their ideas for how their agency can save money and perform better. We'll put the suggestions that work into practice."

Obama's pitch comes at the end of a week focused on federal spending. On Friday, Democrats in Congress neared a deal on Obama's budget proposal and inched closer to passing a bill that would result in some $500 billion in deficits.

Obama is Hitler 2.0, I was watching the rise of Hitler, and oh boy... the ideas, the community organizing and power grabs are text book material.

Well, see, I asked people for ideas on what to cut and no one had any. So we’ll keep spending...

The best way to tighten the economic belt is to begin by eliminating layers of government, i.e., start handing out pink slips.

The best way to tighten the economic belt is to begin by eliminating layers of government, i.e., start handing out pink slips. ... and start at the very top (Congress/Senate/POTUS) and work your way down.

He wants advie on how to cut the budget?

start with 10% ACROSS THE BOARD cut in EVERY DEPARTMENT

then TOP- TO- BOTTOM AUDIT

then 1% reward payment for every dollar each department SAVES IN SPENDING next year (they get paid directly)

The man is lost. What leader asks his “underlings” for ideas when he knows full well what to do?

Here is what we need to do: http://pushbackuntil.com. We can no longer trust the President or Congress with the future of our country. We, the people, have to take bold, swift, long-term, strategic action.

Ridiculous on so many levels. obama pushes for a multi-trillion dollar spending bill and then wants ideas on how to cut spending? How stupid does he think we are?

He thinks plenty of people are stupid, but it isn’t us. If they bought his bullsh*t during the election, why wouldn’t they buy it now? Obama already has at least a guaranteed 16 million votes in the 2012 election as we’ve established the vast majority of blacks in this country can’t look past skin color. On top of that, there were 54 million other braindead people in this country who probably don’t know the difference between Karl Marx and Groucho Marx.

Trust me, it’s sad but true - there are PLENTY of people in this country who are stupid enough to buy whatever he tells them. My neighbor and I were having a discussion the other day about all sorts of things. One of the things that came up is how all “news” is really opinion. People aren’t presented with the facts and left to make their own judgment. The problem is if people were actually just presented with the facts, millions upon millions would be too damn stupid to figure it out themselves, and that’s the problem we have.
