INDIANAPOLIS As members of the Indiana General Assembly wrestle with the state budget and other issues, they rely on a special group of young people to help them stay abreast of paperwork, phone calls and other tasks.
"The interns here are the lifesavers of the legislators," said state Rep. Mary Ann Sullivan.
For some offices, it is an Indiana State University student tossing the lifeline.
"I go through their e-mail and respond to constituents, draft letters, do surveys and help them prepare for sessions," said Abigail Miller, a sophomore political science major from Danville, Ill., and a legislative intern assigned to Reps. Sullivan, Greg Porter and Cherrish Pryor, all of Indianapolis.

i live in indiana; the summer interns are really for the corpulent, ego-driven little people male legislators to grope on and try and pretend they’d actually be able to get it up if they ever did get even a whiff of a chance with the young women; i know this b/c a former girlfriend was one and i saw it firsthand, i was a young clerk for a lobbyist who had to remain ‘neutral’; it was actually a fascinating experience but for ALL the wrong reasons; these people are bigger swine (Indiana people undertand swine) than you can even imagine;
