Tammy Bruce is a great example of a pro-choice, feminist, but otherwise mostly conservative individual.
Conservatism IS a big tent, but for people who are open, honest and forthright about themselves, not phony "I'm a Reagan Conservative" RINOs like McQueeg. Or post-mortem whiners like Schmidt and Meghan.

“Schmidt also criticized his partys political performance in the early days of the Obama presidency.”
Isn’t this the critter they called “The Bullet”?

Yes, the results of last election have confirmed without
any doubt that GOP is shrinking. Sad but true.

not only was Senator Lieberman not acceptable, but any pro-choice nominee was not acceptable,
Total non-non sequitur. Lieberman wasn’t acceptable because he is a flaming liberal. He wouldn’t have been “acceptable” even if he was pro-life.

The Rhino GOP is shrinking.
Not the conservative wing, even if they now define us as Subversive.

McCain was not the candidate that we needed. He won the nomination by appealing to Hispanics and moderates; however, none of these supported him in the election. McCain believed that he could win by condemning social and small government conservatives. The problem with McCain is that he allowed his vanity, which was stroked by the libs, to think that he could win by being nice to the liberals and moderates. He fell for the oldest trick in the book.

Every nation must die. If the Republican Party can’t be a true conservative party, we might as well let the Democrats finish us off quickly. At the rate they are going, the end could come before Republicans have another chance to stop them, especially if clowns like this don’t learn to shut up. With saboteurs running around trying to divide Republicans, and make it easy for Democrats and the pop media, we are going to have to work twice as hard in 2010.

Proof that the GOP is too right wing. It’s not tolerant enough to accept Lieberman as a VP candidate. It has to move to the left to survive. /s barf

In fact the Republica Party may be on the way out. If it folds they can thank idiots like this guy and John McCain. Oh! I don’t want to forget the “Compassionate Conservtive”,George W. Bush.

Because of people like you Senator. No principles. No understanding of business. In fact, little understanding of anything. Except how to tell fables and get re-elected. You are dangerous to the American way of life.

There’s nothing wrong with the Republican Party, that the complete absence of the name “McCain” couldn’t fix.
Just shut up McCain.
Both of you. You did this.

"A shrinking entity"? Thank you, Captain Picard. Any advice on what to do about the Obamacratic borg?
Are you sure he was the campaign manager, and not McCain's double?

I just wanted to take a second to come by and pay my respect and the campaigns respect to your organization and to your group, said Schmidt, who many view as the new architect of the Republican Party. Your organization is an important one in the fabric of our party. In his brief remarks, Schmidt weaved in a personal anecdote about his lesbian sister and her relationship to him, his wife, and his children. On a personal level, my sister and her partner are an important part of my life and our childrens life, he said. I admire your group and your organization and I encourage you to keep fighting for what you believe in because the day is going to come.

When Lehman Brothers collapsed in the fall I knew pretty much right away that
from an electoral strategy perspective, the campaign was finished. It was doomed when Senator McCain suspended his campaign, flew back to DC, and voted for this stupid bailout, the "only" solution to this financial crisis. That killed him with the fiscal conservatives.
Last week, the former McCain aide told a group of gay Republicans it was critical for the party to seriously weigh support for same-sex marriage.
Look, I'm more liberal than most here on this issue, but I can not support that at all. Leave this issue to the state legislatures and keep DOMA. 10th Amendment.
