The best part of being from the Bronx is that the word “from” implies “no longer”.

I lived in the Bronx up till 1947, went to school there in the early 60's. It was pretty nice. Those days are GONE!

1956-1960 College in the Bronx What a cool place! Very warm, lovable folks who helped me straighten up my downeast accent, improved my social drinking skills, introduced me to politics, and barroom fisticuffs.

BTW, this was the Golden Age of NYC radio ... very hip ... great music 24/7, 3 kinds of Opera, 5 kinds of Jazz, 10 kinds of classical, a dedicated station for everyone, regardless of his opinion on anything.

You could not turn it off!
