Some/most entertainment file sharing may well be a violation of copyright.

Some say that posting and discussing news articles on FreeRepublic is a violation of copyright. Some say that public lending libraries are a violation of copyright. How do you feel about those alleged violations?

There was just a news article on FR about Dept. of Homeland Security canceling newspaper and magazine subscriptions because those were available to read on internal government websites.

BTW, I have never used Pirate Bay.

I have never used TPB either but how do you explain people “stealing’ the latest episode of South Park when it’s shown on South Park.com and other sites such as Hulu? I just downloaded it. Trey Parker and Stone stated they don’t “give a rat’s ass” if they DL it or not.

It’s going to be interesting how Devnet interprets “fair use’.

The originating site should get a hit each time the news is viewed/discussed on FR.

They need the hits to get the adds to pay the writers. Its only fair.
