Obama Knocks Cheney Suggestion; Pelosi Weighs In (Gets Earful on Truth Commission)

OBAMA KNOCKS CHENEY’S INTERROGATION MEMO SUGGESTION; GETS EARFUL FROM SPEAKER PELOSI ON “TRUTH COMMISSION” BY CARL CAMERON AND TRISH TURNER

One senior Senate Democratic leadership aide tells Fox that President Obama, in a closed door meeting with bipartisan Congressional leaders Thursday afternoon, said Vice President Cheney is only telling one side of the story when he calls for the release of more interrogation memos that Cheney says show benefits gained from the use of rough tactics on high-value detainees. This, according to the source, came after House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-OH, asked Obama to release more memos, per Cheney’s suggestion. Obama, said the source, “suggested that the situation is not quite that cut and dry.”

Aides to meeting attendees tell Fox that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-CA, was at odds with the President and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-NV. Pelosi told Obama that she wants a “truth commission” to investigate Bush-era interrogation policy, something a number of Congressional Democrats support, including Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy, D-VT, who first suggested the idea months ago.

Sources say the President and Reid were cool to such an investigation. Reid told reporters earlier Thursday that he wants the Senate Intelligence Committee to gather all the facts in its ongoing investigation and present its findings later this year, before any action is taken on a commission. Aides to Reid say the leader does not support a commission, fearing there would be no GOP buy-in, though Reid did not rule it out today.

Toward the end of today’s White House meeting, sources say Pelosi again reiterated her position. Aides say she is not backing down. There is no greater illustration of the President’s political problems with his liberal base.

I wonder if these idiots in Washington talked about improving the frickin’ economic mess we’re in.

They are going to end up having this whole thing blow right up in their faces. Every member of the DEM leadership knew, and sign off on the “torture” Investigations will require discovery, and it will all come out.

“President Obama...said Vice President Cheney is only telling one side of the story when he calls for the release of more interrogation memos that Cheney says show benefits gained from the use of rough tactics on high-value detainees”

Obama, on the other hand, is completely dissinterested, doesn’t have a horse in the race, and doesn’t even really care one way or the other. All he cares about is the unalloyed TRUTH, whereas Cheney crawls on his belly and cares about nothing but power.

So, telling the OTHER side of the story is “only telling one side of the story”.

Personally, I think they’ve talked too much about that. They can take a couple weeks off.

Obama and his Socialist Congress are trying to “blame” the Bush Admin for the fact that we have had no terrorist attacks in the US since 9/11/01. Obama and his fellow Socialists have profound brain defects.

The question we should all be asking is this: What is the Obama Admin doing now to prevent a terrorist attack — another 9/11 or worse here in the US? So far all of Obama’s actions have been geared to helping the terrorists -— releasing those held at Gitmo, announcing that we will pull all troops out of Iraq, and appeasing Iran, the biggest state sponsor of terrorism in the world -— to give a few examples.

Who will Obama blame when the inevitable “new” 9/11 happens?

These people are haters to the core. They enhance themselves but do nothing for America.

Pelosi wants a “truth commission” That’s an oxymoron.

Obama says “Vice President Cheney is only telling one side of the story when he calls for the release of more interrogation memos”... DUH, It’s the side Obama and the Libs ARE NOT telling!

Just saw on Fox that AG Holder said hes has not seen (read) the reports VP Cheney wants released. I think he said Obama has not seen them either.

WTF! How can they make a decision to release the procedures and not know what he results were.

OH, I forgot, they are Democrats and only furnish fad news.

Obama’s statement is totally nonsensical. He’s using the usual Dem-rat tactic of knowing his words are not going to be examined by the main stream press.

The Gop, Bush and Cheney are still not seeing the noose tightening around their own necks. This is not political competition as usual but open warfare.

But what can you tell the annointed ones piing in their pants in denial?

All they go about is making Obama “successful” bar none other competing parties in a criminal manner. They have chosen their biscuits and legacies of PC perfect over truth and self-drive in confidence like shaking cats.

If MaoBama had an actual constructive plan, I would agree. But since he's got the anti-Midas touch, I would say DON'T focus on the economy but rather let himself slowly sink in this particular tar-pit.

That way, if the economy improves, American Business might finally realize that democRATS are their enemy and stop supporting the bastards. If the economy gets worse, Obama will be blamed (not that he'll accept the blame).

And all the while, he'll stir up the hornets nest with WATER(board)-GATE. Unlike his fairy-tale budget, political capital can't be printed up on a whim. Weaken him, Reid, Clinton, Holder, ad nauseaum and then we've got a fighting chance to defeat this pipsqueak.

Hehe.. They are pulling the Iraq defense. “I knew it and approved it I but I didn’t actually think they would do it.”
