Ashcroft should reconsider associating himself with someone like Sutton. He cannot draw in any Conservative money to the firm.

"They will be operating in Texas as Ashcroft Sutton Ratcliffe LLC.Remember that name.
You'll hear it again, where something especially stupid, immoral, illegal, or just plain idiotic is being done within our "legal system."

Disappointing! Very. The man should be disbarred.
These political hacks really do stick together, dont they?
It sure seems that way. Unfortunately for them, I don't think the name "Sutton" brings much credibility to their firm.
I'm just glad that the controversy surrounding him probably kept President Bush from appointing him to the federal bench.

Disbarred because you disagree with a prosecution on a political basis.

This reflects VERY poorly on Ashcroft. I thought he had a bit more savvy and sense than this. It will lose him money and respect among many Conservatives. Sutton is corrupt — bought and paid for. That, or he is compromised and easily manipulated by more nefarious than himself. Either way — it AIN’T good.

There were some here who were certain that Sutton was disgraced and wouldn’t be able to get a job. I guess they were wrong.
To: patriot preacher
Ashcroft does have quite a lot of credence, and it is funny how many smart people at FR, having never met Sutton, and having no direct knowledge of cases they speak about, only what we read in the papers, think they have better judgment than a known solid conservative like Ashcroft who has no doubt met personally with Sutton and therefore knows him personally, not just by inference.

Second that.

Disbarred because you disagree with a prosecution on a political basis. /facepalmNope. Disbarred for not doing his duty in the name of justice. Disbarred for lying to Congress. Disbarred for being a sleazebag.

I guess that cloud of impending perjury/misconduct charges is still just over the horizon.
