President Obama for the first time Tuesday opened the door to prosecuting former Bush administration officials, saying those who approved harsh interrogation techniques for suspected terrorists may be subject to criminal charges.
The president also left open the possibility for an independent commission to examine the interrogations of detainees with techniques that included waterboarding, sleep deprivation and other tactics that defenders said produced valuable information.
The remarks were a reversal from several days ago, when Mr. Obama said he wanted to move forward and his chief of staff appeared to rule out any prosecutions. The president took a harder line after a key congressional committee chairman and liberal pressure groups urged him not to take prosecutions off the table.

why do I get this sick feeling in my stomach and visions in my head of Obie rolling his sleeves up rushing down the white house halls when the next attacks on out country happens...and joining their sidem thus completing the complete infiltration of the US...and implementing the true “change” he wants in a matter of hours....then again I could just have my tinfoil forage cap on a litttttle too tight...
This is one can of worms that zero doesn’t want to open because the next administration could use this precedent to go after him which could very well happen unless we have some limp wristed “new tone” type again.
This would amount to a non peaceful transfer of power.
Or being made to do degrading chores, or having to crawl through the mud underneath barbed wire with guns being shot over your head. Standing out in the cold rain for hours on end. Having your bunk and the contents of your wall locker thrown about.
I am not so sure that Hillary Loves this country...!!

The spooks and the worker bees are two different things.
While the spooks are the quiet professional patriots, the worker bees at Langley on the other hand are just a bunch of loose lipped treasonous libtards who will leak anything to make a Republican administration look bad.
Another reason is she’d have to worry they’d go back further and find things weren’t sunshines and lollipops under Bill.
Here’s hoping we get a conservative in office in 2012 that will look into some of Obama’s things.
And Obama claims this isn’t politics. And I’m the Queen of England.
What worries me most about this is making the president afraid to do anything or our military leaders afraid to do anything for fear of someone deciding to play politics.
I wanted Hillary to be the nominee because I thought she would make 238029183098321908321808310283901932083192038920183920138201832181908312 times the President Obama would and if it had to be a liberal democrat I wanted it to be her. While she is a lefty she’s much closer to the center than Obama is.
To be perfectly frank if it came down between her, Bill and Blagobama (that’s what I call him he and Blagojevich are from the same cloth) I’d take 4 more years of Bill.
I have a horrible feeling by 2012 we’re going to say we’d rather have had 4 years of CARTER!
He should stop and think what will happen when it is his to be investigated!
What makes you think there will be an opposition left to
investigate him?
Again we have something else released from the man who refuses to release his own medical. birth or school records.
