The customer bought 1,000 rounds a few months ago through a mail order company. Shortly after the purchase, he received a visit from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, whose interest was apparently piqued by a large-scale purchase of that caliber.

1000 rounds of .223 is NOT a "large-scale purchase".

Neither is 1,000,000 rounds as well.

To quote Nicholas Cage in the great movie LORD OF WAR, "hey I do a lot of shooting!!"

I really appreciate the Swiss and Israeli military posture whereby they require each citizen to have their weapon always ready and have a minimum of 1000 rounds.
