Sometimes successful people you wouldn’t suspect do this and it’s a completely personal matter. OTOH with everything going on around Freddie and Fannie, you have to wonder if there are scandals and he committed suicide because of the pressure or fear of discovery. It has to be looked at. Prayers to the family suicide is a terrible mistake no matter what problems he thought he faced.
I don’t think that’s particularly young for the Senior VP spot, but rather young for the CFO spot. However, he was only appointed as acting/interim CFO, after the departure (presumably involuntary) of the previous CFO. I’m guessing there weren’t a whole lot of highly qualified CFO types interested in taking this position at this time.
That much enthusiasm/surprise was generated by Harry only for the Cubs, not your average street hit. "Ho-hum, nothing to see here...move along."
