Last night we had web servers in the dmz under attack by bots. They look for weakness in typical M$FT hacks but these just result in http 500 response codes from SunOne web servers running on Solaris. We were thinking about developing a reverse attack proxy; writing automation to detect one of these attacks and then blast the rogue source IP address with a denial of service attack.
