Chris Simcox is the president of one of the largest Minuteman Project spin-off groups, the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps (MCDC). Chris and MCDC split away from Jim Gilchrist's Minuteman Project over two years ago to become a "project" of Declaration Alliance. Chris hired a slick Washington Consulting company (Diener and Associates) to handle MCDC's finances and raise money for the organization.
Before Simcox knew it was happening, he had lost control of his organization to a DC beltway insider's coalition. They took control of MCDC's parent corporation after Simcox was convicted of a weapons violation on Federal land. For the record: Simcox was legally wearing a sidearm until he accidentally entered a state park. The felony prevented him from remaining the head of the group, but the fundraising company kept him on as the "Founder" and sent him on the paid lecture circuit. With a wife and children to consider, Simcox was in no position to turn on his masters.
Last year almost half of the members of MCDC revolted against Simcox and tried to take the organization away from its real owner, fundraiser Diener and Associates. The members claimed that they received no financial support from MCDC and were instructed to send what little donations they could scrape up to Headquarters for redistribution. Many Chapter leaders complained, but they were dismissed or ignored.
At one point the majority of the chapter leaders called for a meeting with Simcox to ask where the money went. Simcox had no idea and no one from the fundraising company would tell him. The rebelling members demanded to see the financial books, but Simcox didn't have them and wasn't sure who did. He then did the only thing he could do; he ran away and hid.

Will others, unwilling to bury the hatchet with Simcox for whatever reason (jealousy, disputes, whatever), undermine Simcox’s bid?
If there is some way for all the Minutemen to get back together and singing kumbaya, this would certainly be the time.
If Simcox runs, even if the Minutemen all get along, what is to say that McCain, or other liberals won’t effectively use it against him?
Its something to think about.
If the MM can collectively clean their house and amicably reconcile whatever debts they have to one another, they can all speak for Simcox in good conscience. This is to be almost infinitely preferred to a McShamnesty.
Simcox will at the very least slow Juanito down on pushing amnesty...

I remember back in the Republican primary, it was Duncan Hunter I think, who was hammering the fence issue.
Suddenly, everybody else jumped on the fence bandwagon and started acting like it was their idea.
And then the media crowned a looser for us.
If Simcox is ready to speak, and his erstwhile rivals are willing, at the least, to hold their fire, then let the action begin. We should stop fearing media smear. We have our own ways (tea parties) to tell our side of the story. Maybe McCain will get religion on McShamnesty, which is almost as good an outcome as a Simcox win.

Considering what the MSM adolescents said about the tea parties (referring to the obscure perverted sexual practice of “teabagging”), we should not fear but rather diligently pursue ways to show the public what juvenile idiots the MSM be. I do not consent to be held hostage by foul mouths.
Or Simcox could use this incident as proof that the Beltway crowd is corrupt and evil....which is what this all sounds like.
The media will try to smear Simcox....and that includes Fox (which is pro-illegal alien). They will try to smear no matter what.
We must be strong and unite to remove McCain. McCain has sold America out on national security/illegal aliens...and has done nothing but trash Sarah Palin. The Conservative movement becomes strong again when McCain is toppled
Chris Simcox could have his head up his rear end, be a blithering idiot, and sit around drooling drinking blatz beer all day and he’d still be better than Juan McLame.
McLame and that rat bastard Specter both beaten in their primaries would be a great start in righting the ship known as the G.O.P.
But this is about getting rid of McCain. Period.
You only get a chance to do it every SIX years.
To that end the Simcox candidacy is a heaven sent...............for McCain!
Simcox can't win.
He'll only siphon votes away from a real potential winner.
And there are no votes to spare.

I am from Florida and have no knowledge of anyone else with a big name who is willing to run against the rino turd known as juan mclame.
In keeping with the “system” now in place, McCain will haul in massive truckloads of special interest and lobbyist money, while Simcox (if he sticks it out and makes an actual run) will be left begging for lunch money.
Yeah it sucks, but that’s how politics works today. Only the whores receive enough money to run a campaign. The rest are also-rans.
