That first guy in the article, I think he should have bought more guns and ammo. then starbucks, red wine and deodorant.

"Diversified neighborhood" - what a wonderful thought as long as everything is fine and everyone is getting along. Probably not a good place to be if and when the poop hits the fan.

I hope for his sake that he is keeping that gas he has stored well treated with a fuel stabilizer. The current ethanol blend fuels are not nearly as storage-friendly as the old gasoline was.

Just a few thoughts on this. An ax, I have a 3.5 pound double sided Michigan. A split maul (8 pound min.) with wedge, bow saw, 2 man buck saw, machette or 2 or 3, a good metal file for sharpening, sickle for cutting high grass or brush - good for fire starter, strike on box match matches which are incredibly cheap, cast iron pots pans grills and outdoor cookware.

I'm not creating a gasoline stock pile. Plenty of stuff that can do the same job at antique stores that most people overlook that can do the same job. Hand crank radio's that pick up short wave, hand crank or inertia flashlights, backpack with frame, canteens or camel backs, P38 can openers, shovels, rakes and hoes, wheel barrow with bicycle pump.

In addition to firearms and ammo., cross bow or re curve or compound, sling shot, pump BB or pellet gun, gut hook, fillet and assorted knives along with meat tenderizing mallets.

Several bottles of hydrogenperoxide, isopropal alchol, a huge supply of aspirin and dental floss, bandages, wraps and cotton.

A don't tread on me flag is a must. Just a few things to add.
