The founder of the pro-border enforcement group, the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps, will announce Wednesday his plan to challenge Sen. John McCain in the Arizona Republican Senate primary in 2010.
On Monday, Minuteman founder Chris Simcox announced he was resigning as head of the organization to seek the Republican nomination for the Senate seat held by McCain, the 2008 Republican presidential candidate.
McCain, a four-term senator, has faced criticism from border hawks over his support and sponsorship of legislation to establish a pathway to citizenship for illegal aliens, allowing them to stay in the United States if they learn English and pay back taxes. Opponents of such measures, such as Simcox, call such proposals amnesty.
McCain announced in December he would run for re-election to the Senate in 2010.
John McCain has failed miserably in his duty to secure this nations borders and protect the people of Arizona from the escalating violence and lawlessness, Simcox said.
He has fought real efforts over the years at every turn, opting to hold our nations border security hostage to his amnesty schemes. Couples with his votes for reckless bailout spending and big government solutions to our nations problems, John McCain is out of touch with everyday Americans. Enough is enough, he added.
Simcox plans to make his announcement at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Arizona State Capitol in Phoenix.

good. I hope he wins.
Where can I send my contribution check?
This guy’s timing might be really good and it would be great to see McCain get dumped. This guy has sold us out at every turn, including during the Presidential election. He put his own chronic, self-serving catering to certain interest groups ahead of the broader national interest, which resulted in us now having a commie running the government. Screw you, McCain.
McCain has all the advantages of an incumbent, advantages he relentlessly manipulated into his Incumbent Protection Scam legislation(aka “Campaign Finance Reform”). Arrogant, flippant, facile, shallow, dull, and narcissist, McCain has done grave damage to the Republic. The fact that he was a war hero 40 years ago doesn’t change the fact that he’s a no-good bum.
I hope they ask Gov. Palin if she endorses McCain- and she says that she’ll have to wait and see how the candidates stand on the issues.
This will be fairly close, but with the upcoming immigration debate, thanks to 0, McCain might need to find a day job.
Does Arizona have an open primary?
I just sent the following e-mail to Gov. Palin. I suggest you do the same.
“I am looking forward to your Presidential bid in 2012. I will gladly contribute to that cause when it begins. For now please do me and other conservatives a favor and endorse Chris Simcox in his 2010 bid for the republican candidacy for the Senate seat from Arizona.”
Yes...where do we send donations to Simcox....
Time to unseat the treasonous McCain. This would be a great time....Phoenix is being overrun by illegal alien drug gains....and McCain’s daughter is praising Eminem for his video where he sexually assaults Sarah Palin.
Time for McCain to go...and let him take the 30 million illegals with him
