What's bothersome, however, is the tacit assumption by the folks on this thread that the current state of conservatism is all hunky-dory.
One need not agree with Ms. McCain's positions, to agree with her on the fact that conservatism in particular, and the Republican Party in general, are in real trouble.
It's easy to insult her ... it's clearly much more difficult to face like adults the underlying truth of what she says.
Correction—our COUNTRY is is real trouble—and to some on the left, from 1600 Pa Ave.on down— that’s a good thing.
I guess if we roll over and play dead, and espouse the same doctrines as the Democrats, with no regard for our worldview, our ethics, our morals, our religion, our consciences, or our self-respect, then we maybe can syphon off a few votes from some people we have little if anything in common with.
