Exclusive: N. Korea Preparing for 2nd Nuclear Test

Japanese paper reports quoting IAEA inspector expelled from N. Korea

El Baradei: N. Korea should be regarded as a nuclear power.

2009/04/21

Sekai Nippo of Japan reported on Apr. 20 in its dispatch from Vienna, Austria, that N. Korea is preparing for the second nuclear test quoting an IAEA inspector.

According to the report, the inspector, who wants to remain anonymous, said, "This is the conclusion based on latest information obtained from monitoring sealed nuclear facilities in Yongbyon, N. Korea. It is certain that Pyongyang quietly started preparation for 2nd nuclear test. International community fails to notice the movements (related to the nuclear test) while distracted by a string of provocations by N. Korea."

He returned to IAEA headquarter in Vienna on Apr. 19, after leaving Pyongyang in the afternoon of Apr. 16 following N. Korea decision to expel them, according to the newspaper.

He went on to say, "The first nuclear test in Oct., 2008 produced (relatively) small blast and the result was unsatisfactory. As a result, N. Korean authorities believe that they need another nuclear test or more to (confidently) declare that they are nuclear power. The second test would be also done underground just as the first test was."

This is not really a new revelation. N. Korea reportedly mapped out its strategy of confrontation last year. If they do not get what they want, they decided to go all the way to the second nuclear test.

In the mean time, they have other cards to play: Small-scale military confrontations; taking additional foreign hostages for leverage; shutdown of Kaesung Industry complex.

Their previous test was a fizzle. They can’t keep these half hearted shows up forever, if only because they will have beheaded all their scientists and engineers for the previous ones.

Obama will take another vacation or have another concert at the White House and/or order pizza for take-out. If he’s not too busy with his reading list that is.

Obama’s fault.

No, no it isn't...don't you remember? He got some of the member nations at the U.N. to tentatively resolve to agree to consider a letter of stern disapproval indirectly directed at North Korea.

How Kim Jong Il dares a second nuclear test in the face of such great opposition I'll never know.

Indeed.

The real news and headline to spot will be:

Japan Prepares For It's First

And this time--unlike 65 years ago, it won't be as a recipient of a blasted nuke, but very possible as a deliverer of such a weapon over the heads of its enemy.

North Koreans are really pushing the envelop here geopolitically and proving Biden over and over again. But can you blame them? They feel incredibly empowered these days, to do whatever they damn feel.

Yeah! "Change" we can believe in!!

They will use those two freelance reporter chicks up in Pyongyang they seized on the border about a month ago as REAL negotiation bait as well; the Obamaites wont be able to fly to Beijing quick enough in a nervous tilly ready to propose a fast deal. North Korea, a third world nation, has the United States by the testes; it is really disgusting; many others will follow suit.
