Most "Common people" look at bars with disdain. Everybody recognizes an old dime, quarter, or "silver dollar", plus, most of us don't deal in large transactions. A dime or quarter may be all you need to buy an item. They are both "known quantities".
Bullion (bars) is fine in bulk, but IMHO, a bag of silver is much more useful day-to-day! Also, a box of 22LR could easily become a tank of gasoline...
