Barack Obama visits CIA to calm uproar over release of secret memos

President Barack Obama made his first visit to the Central Intelligence Agency on Monday in an attempt to calm an uproar among America's spies over his release of secret memos about interrogation techniques.

"Don't be discouraged by what's happened the last few weeks. Don't be discouraged that we have to acknowledge potentially we have made some mistakes - that's how we learn," Mr Obama said in a speech at the agency's headquarters.

"So I want to make a point that...I understand that it's hard when you are asked to protect the American people against people who have no scruples and would willingly and gladly kill innocents."

He must have gotten this sound bite mixed up with the one for a kindergarten visit.

Kumbaya...

“I understand that it's hard when you are asked to protect the American people against people who have no scruples.”
It's even harder when you're asked to respect a President and his administration that has no scruples. Obama, you're a poser, a traitor, a commie sympathizer and an asshole.

What a jerk, resident Obowma threw the entire CIA of the United States under the bus, plus he just made life much worse for any service men and women who may be captured in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Does this idiot not realize the nation is at war with terrorists?

What a jerk! Talk about loose lips sink ships! Good grief. Just to take another dig at Bush.

I don’t see al Queda apologizing for any beheadings or terrorist bombings of innocents! What a moron!!

"What we have described for our enemies in the midst of a war are the outer limits that any American would ever go to in terms of interrogating an al Qaeda terrorist. That's very valuable information," Hayden said on "Fox News Sunday."

"By taking techniques off the table, we have made it more difficult in a whole host of circumstances I can imagine, more difficult for CIA officers to defend the nation."

He added, "if you look at what this really comprises, if you look at the documents that have been made public, it says 'top secret' at the top. The definition of top secret is information which, if revealed, would cause grave harm to U.S. security."

You know I really want to just shut up and go on with life no matter who is president. It is impossible with the ass backwards logic that is going on in Washington everyday.

Exactly.

An uproar against him is a good thing.

Yeah, I know, me too, I just want normal, but every single day there is some outrageous bs from this bozo. What is with this guy? Why doesn’t he just shut up and act presidential and do nothing outrageous for at least 24 hours.

If he wants to relate the truth, he should merely tell them - and the rest of us - to paint bull’s eyes on our backs.

Hayden said the administration's decision to release the Bush administration memos will make CIA officials less willing to engage in interrogation tactics now sanctioned by the federal government.

"The basic foundation of the legitimacy of the agency's action has shifted from some durability of law to a product of the American political process. That puts agency officers in a horrible position," he said

Panetta is a leftist wimp. Give me a good mafia gumba any day. They used frozen fish to kill people.

Panetta is a rotting dead fish and smells like one. No guts, no ACORNS, no nothing. That was why he was picked to head the CIA.

Oh gosh! I didn't see that and it's frightening to know they are so enamoured of ZERO. How can so many people not see what all’s happening, or - why do they like what is happening?

Don’t take this the wrong way because I don’t want any visits from men in suits, but Obama is pi$$ing the wrong people off. He doesn’t have to worry about the rural guy with a shotgun as much as higher ups with a lot more to lose and a lot more ability to intervene. Eventually the scales tip and these people don’t buy sweet talking reassurance and hypnotic deliveries.

Interpret that as you will.
