Now, now. Let's not be so negative. Banning drugs has worked so well. The war on drugs can serve as an excellent guide for the war on guns.
Not the same. The average drug addled idiot has nothing to lose but honest gun owners have plenty to lose and are overwhelmingly law biding.
I agree. They will have an awful time banning lead and lead alloys, what with 100+ years of production in large volumes, and the making of brass cases (aside from the billions and billions out there) would be a cinch for many machinists. Casting is an old and oft-used skill, and with the price of ammo skyrocketing as it has in the last year or so, many more people are getting into it. Primers - ditto, though they'd likely be simpler than what is currently manufactured by the billions each year. Powder - same.
Besides, as an acquaintance of mine once said, "why worry about what is or isn't in the store, when the morons are going to bring the store to you?"
