Miss North Carolina Kristen Dalton was crowned Miss USA on Sunday, but the big story to come out of the normally politics-free telecast was Miss California's comments regarding gay marriage.
When asked by judge Perez Hilton, whether she believed in gay marriage, Miss California, Carrie Prejean, said "We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite. And you know what, I think in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised
Keith Lewis, who runs the Miss California competition, tells FOXNews.com that he was "saddened" by Prejean's statement.
"As co-director of the Miss California USA, I am personally saddened and hurt that Miss California believes marriage rights belong only to a man and a woman," said Lewis in a statement. "I believe all religions should be able to ordain what unions they see fit. I do not believe our government should be able to discriminate against anyone and religious beliefs have no politics in the Miss California family."
Co-director Shanna Moakler told FOXNews.com that she fully supported Lewis' statement.

Miss California's answer sparked a shouting match in the lobby after the show. "It's ugly," said Scott Ihrig, a gay man, who attended the pageant with his partner. "I think it's ridiculous that she got first runner-up. That is not the value of 95 percent of the people in this audience. Look around this audience and tell me how many gay men there are."
Charmaine Koonce, the mother of Miss New Mexico USA Bianca Matamoros-Koonce, argued back.
"In the Bible it says marriage is between Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve!"

WTF is that clown doing as a judge?
Pitiful.
We watch little boys who are already so effete and wonder:
did mom coddle first or did she coddle in response to sissy acting boy
it's hard to tell but the connection between coddling mom and sissy lad is consistent.
That photo AGAIN proves liberalism is a mental disorder.
Furor among media whores and who else?
2. The question was highly inappropriate. This isn't a political contest.
I can tell a boy is likely going to be homosexual really young....before aged two in some cases if it’s really blatant.
Pursed lips, curling the toe heel back, prancing with hand on hip exaggerated, wanting mom’s clothes and Barbies, zero interaction with other boys....
it’s amazing but how early did it start?
and is it just an inclination that doesn’t have to be or more than that?
To be fair all of the girls were fairly conservative in their answers to the questions, Miss NC gave a fairly conservative answer regarding national health care! And I heard how the audience cheered when Miss California answered the way she answered...Mr. Hilton was not in an audience friendly to gays!
Wow, Josie and the Pussycats went downhill and hit a few ugly trees along the way.
Perez Hilton (who my wife admittedly follows) is a preening asshat.
A neurotic obnoxious queen who makes Harvey Firestein seems cordial.
Were he a man, he should get his ass kicked constantly.
Makes perfect sense if you consider the very likely possibility her position was well known long before this event.
The template [read: modus operandi] of the Liberal-Socialist left; especially, the gay mafia has to be "outed" once & for finally.
They do, after all, control an overwhelming majority of the quisling media in Hollyweird, NYCity etc, at all levels.
Think about it.
We are rapidly approaching critical mass.
Again, implicit in this whole story is the idea that gays are somehow disadvantaged when it comes to marriage rights/ That’s patently wrong and even many critics of same-sex marriage confuse the issue.
Marriage laws do not discriminate based on sexual preference - they never have. A straight man and a gay man have the same exact legal right to get married - that is, find a woman who wants to marry them (and who they want to marry) and proceed. The same goes for straight and gay women.
Gays are not forbidden to marry, no matter how hard they try and confuse the issue. Gays have every right to marry, they choose not to exercise it, that’s all.
It’s like if I had a romantic relationship with three women, and I wanted to marry all three. If I made the case m rights were being violated, that wouldn’t be true - I am free to marry any one woman (who was willing to marry me). There’s no discrimination in this dynamic.
She supported the gay guy, not the contestant who said ‘no thanks’. Or was the ‘god bless you’ from the queer crowd? I don’t want to be blessed by their little false god.
Why in the heck do they have a hostile homosexual male judging a beauty contest?
true that....just walk intom any newsroom like here in nashville at the tennessean
prolly 1/3rd homosexual men and women
that is at least 10 times the population average and it shows
disproportionately minority too while we’re on the subject
You can’t tell from that, I knew examples of very masculine boys who were quite surprising in their sexual preferences. Actual practise defines the person, not the mannerisms, no matter what one might suspect!
lmao!
That is just one ‘flavor’ of gay. But an environment has to exist in order for that to be fostered so the behavior can continue.
