It has nothing to do with feel-good, do nothing liberalism and more to do with blatant propaganda thru symbolism. Goebbels would be proud.

Yea, stimulus will drive up deficit by 3 trillion dollars and he wants his cabinet to cut $100 million. Ridiculous.

Glad to read these posts that see this for the joke it is. Nixon tried this ‘top down’ approach to cut spending at a time when the White House was at odds with Congress. The bureaucracy yielded up anything but their most ‘pet’ projects to satisfy the fiscal goal, often sacrificing the very personnel and functions that had merit.
