WASHINGTON (CNN) Senior White House adviser David Axelrod on Sunday suggested the "Tea Party" movement is an "unhealthy" reaction to the tough economic climate facing the country.
Axelrod was asked on CBS's "Face the Nation" about the "spreading and very public disaffection" with the president's fiscal policies seen at the "Tea Party" rallies around the country last week.
"I think any time you have severe economic conditions there is always an element of disaffection that can mutate into something that's unhealthy," Axelrod said.
Axelrod appeared to backtrack when pressed on whether the movement is unhealthy.
"Well, this is a country where we value our liberties and our ability to express ourselves, and so far these are expressions," he said...

But spedning ourselves into trillioan dollars holes IS healthy, see?
Thats called logic!
I find the shift to a fascist form of government unhealthy, but what does thousands of years of history mean. Big government control never leads to freedom.
Tea parties are unhealthy for socialists.
I suggest Axelrod hasn’t a clue what freedom and liberty really mean.
Regardless, Mr. Axelrod is engaging in what is, in my world, worthy of the harshest penalty. He is basking in freedom and liberty while attempting to destroy them through Obama policy that has no foundation in principle or the Constitution. In stark contrast to the example of those slave owning white oppressors the founding fathers.
I expect that King George III thought pretty much the same thing.
Here is a flash message for the Axelrods of the world, I am not cowering in my estate waiting for the hoards of libs and have nots to fire up a guillotine. I intend to make my points known every way I can from writing letters, to appearing at demonstrations, to confronting the political leftest establishment and to use the first amendment to its intended purpose.

So now now the First Amendment is unhealthy; hubris and hypocrisy on display from the inventor of the "astroturf movement."
Remember the story of the frog in a pot? You try to put a frog in a pot of boiling water and he will just jump out. You put a frog in a pot of cold water and slowly turn up the heat, he will stay put and die.
Bambi's regime is moving so quickly on his agenda that we are the frog being forced into boiling water. How could they not anticipate we would express our displeasure? But perhaps that's the whole reason behind Napolitano's memo - a preemptive strike against anyone who protests.
Beware re-education camps!
Complaining about the US Pres__ent making us insolvent is somehow unhealthy.
Did he ever say that the protests by Code Pink, Cindy Shehan or any other leftist group were unhealthy?
Politicians (on sides of the isle) have NO respect or fear of the citizenry....but they should. The other shoe will drop eventually....and soon, IMO.
Don’t want those tea partires mutating into anything unhealthy like freedom.
I’ve been thinking about the wild rabid behavior of the democrats and far left over these tea parties and reached the conclusion that this isn’t about conservatives. The democrats know they aren’t going to embarrass or intimidate conservatives, this is intended for their own voters. That tells me that they’re worried that a sizable chunk of their own base may be turning away from them.
There’s nothing either party fears more than left and right agreeing on something. It’s seldom good for washington.
At what point do these actions become treasonous? Who has the stones and enough power to pursue legal action? How would SCOTUS vote? IOWs, are we totally screwed, or do we have options?
Mr. Axelrod seems to have a problem with that pesky little Bill of Rights. As soon as his boss can get that problem out of the way..........................
They should be scared witless. Once their own turn on them, some opportunistic lib politician will seize the moment.
Yep, its “unhealthy”, alright.
Unhealthy to would-be tyrants and legislative dictators.
the only reason assrod thinks this is because he once bought that diet tea and it gave him serious runs. He gets confused easily.
Tea parties are unhealthy but taking advantage of an economic crisis to grow government is healthy.
