The last of the four public meetings Interior Sec. Salazar convened to receive input about the Outer Continental Shelf Oil and Gas leasing program was held Thursday in San Francisco. Big opponent, Barbara Boxer’s emotional commentary was based on the 1969 Santa Barbara oil spill. Sen. Boxer failed to realize that in four decades American ingenuity has developed technologies that would prevent such a spill today.
She also fails to realize that the damage done by the spill would be greatly exceeded by the damage done by natural “bubbling up” from the offshore deposits if they weren’t being drawn down on a regular basis.
Boxer is one of the clueless members of the Senate. Get her away from the talking points and she is a babbling idiot.
Don’t forget she is also stupid.
The sad thing is that most of the Democrats in Congress, as well as a few Republicans, are still “Stuck in the ‘60’s”.
Facts and reason don’t sit well with liberals.
