Axelrod: Tea Party Anger is Misdirected
AP ^ | Aug 18, 2002

Damn the tea bags. A top adviser to President Barack Obama takes a dim view of last week's anti-tax "tea parties," promoted by organizers in the spirit of the Boston Tea Party.

"The thing that bewilders me is this president just cut taxes for 95 percent of the American people. So I think the tea bags should be directed elsewhere because he certainly understands the burden that people face," David Axelrod said Sunday.

Oh no no it wasn’t FOX that came up with astroturfing. That was Napolatano. Fox just repeated what she said, I saw it.

No, I meant that many Dems were claiming that Fox was doing the Astroturfing (They report, I obey). They seem to have forgotten that this was started by Rick Santelli on CNBC making a rant about Obama's policies.

There is too much variation in the tax laws to achieve the +/- $10 targets that I once achieved.

Plus the penalty for not paying in enough. They want 'their' money and they want it NOW!

I would add one. We demand no more gun laws! We have more than sufficient laws to get and keep illegal guns off the streets, ENFORCCE THEM REGARDLESS OF THE RACE OR ETHNICITY OF THE CRIMINAL, AND STOP ATTACKING AND DEMINISHING OUR RIGHTS.

Axelrod knows all about ‘astroturfing’.

******

David Axelrod’s political consulting services were operated through his firm AKP&D Message & Media. He also operated a second business from the same office, ASK Public Strategies, which creates strategy and advertising campaigns for corporate clients.

ASK’s operations, client roster, and revenue remain confidential, but customers and public records confirm the agency has run campaigns for the Chicago Children’s Museum, ComEd, Cablevision, and AT&T. The firm has helped set up front organizations that were listed as sponsors of public-issue ads, a practice referred to as “astroturfing.”

http://tinyurl.com/c7p8x9

And so does Michelle Obama...

In 2007, the University of Chicago Hospital hired ASK to assist in marketing a plan for steering patients who don’t have health insurance to other health care facilities, a plan with which now-First Lady Michelle Obama was associated, working for the hospital. The plan has critics in the community, who see it as a way to dump costly patients and increase the hospital’s bottom line.

WASHINGTON, April 19 (UPI) — The so-called “TEA Party” movement against taxes could become an “unhealthy” reaction to gloomy U.S. economic conditions, a White House adviser said.

In an appearance Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation” program, Senior White House Adviser David Axelrod said the Taxed Enough Already rallies across the nation last week should not have been directed at President Barack Obama’s administration.

He said the TEA Party events, which were organized by the conservative group FreedomWorks, comes from a dissatisfaction with the economy that “can mutate into something that’s unhealthy.”

He also said the White House is “not at all” afraid of the National Rifle Association.

The Government just spent $1.8 trillion that they don’t have and they call the anger “misdirected”?

Acorn members, sponsors and founders will undoubtedly not be able to comprehend voter disparagement in connection with the events occurring on a daily basis that insult taxpayers, parents, veterans, Christians, those who have lost jobs and those who fear losing their jobs, those who want immigration laws strictly enforced and borders secured, those who want our military supported to the utmost, those who value human life from the very beginning stages to the very end stages, and those who find the bashing of Americans and America totally unacceptable no matter who does it. There are a lot more of us than Mr. Axelrod is likely aware and many are his fellow democrats and those who voted independent.

ok, I am one of those rich guys who makes more than $250,000 so my taxes aren’t going down. But consider this, much of my income is derived from my small business interests. I don’t use my income to buy beach homes and fancy cars. I use my income to reinvest in my business by purchasing equipment and hiring people. The more I pay in taxes to fund these idiots in DC the less I have to invest in purchasing capital assets and employing people. Why is it that the Obama administration and the democrats treat those of us who fuel this economy like the enemy and imply we are doing something evil by being successful? I grew up thinking that was what was great about America ... The problem is that they are mostly like Obama and have never held a private sector job. They really have no clue what it means to create tax solutions that promote small business growth. Their dumbass solutions are throwing trillions of dollars at these big ineffectivce corporations with little accountability ... I could go on and on .... this is so very frustrating ... but at the end of the day I will continue to work my butt off and strive for excellence and we will beat these bozos, trust me on that one

I must have not gotten the notice from Dick Armey and FreedomWorks because they didn’t ‘lead’ me to do anything as the AP claims!

******

The tea parties were promoted by FreedomWorks, a conservative nonprofit advocacy group based in Washington and led by former Republican House Majority Leader Dick Armey of Texas, who is now a lobbyist.

Axelrod replied: “I think any time that you have severe economic conditions, there is always an element of disaffection that can mutate into something that’s unhealthy.”

And the loud mouthed Axelrod (a former NEWSPAPER 'reporter' at the Chicago Tribune) who still has connections to get his message out!

They ALWAYS do Lance. It’s like watching someone take your furniture out of your house, and when you reach home, asking them what they think they are doing with your belongings. They stand there and say “I don’t understand, I don’t know what you are so angy about, I don’t know what you are talking about.”

Trouble is, this admin is not even that good at lying, people can see right through them.
