I’m new to reloading and firearms in general. I need 40 caliber primers and bullets. I have all the brass I could ever want. Any tips for where to get these components online? I’m expecting a waiting list, I just want a reputable source.

I’m expecting a waiting list,Most online retailers will not backorder primers - there are none available. What's worse is that they have no idea when (if) they will get more - it's that bad.

Primers for pistol ammunition are not sold by caliber. You buy either Large Pistol Primers or Small Pistol Primers. The brass is manufactured to accept one of the standard sizes of the two. A .40 S & W caliber cartridge takes a small pistol primer. Do not use either Magnum or Small Rifle primers. They are made for specific purposes other than pistol cartridge loading.

Here is a link for a popular "Rainier" copper plated lead bullet source called Midway Supply. Midway Supply

Good luck finding primers. You'll just have to check around.

The only time I ever had "all the brass I could ever want" was when we went down to Monterrey Marine base (was Navy command pistol team captain at the time, not civillian) and picked up a 55 gallon drum full of spent .223 and .45 hulls, along with ammo cans of clips (not magazines) and clip guides to reload the magazines.
Very little of that left now, (25 years later).

All I can say is "good luck." Try Dillon Precision & Midway... You should be able to find bullets (loaded ammo in 40S&W is plentiful around here, a local shop has a wall of Federal and W/W cases of loaded .40S&W), but from what I hear, you may be out of luck at finding primers anywhere.

Wait until you really "get rolling" with reloading. You'll soon discover the old adage, "You can never have too much brass! ;-)

As of two minutes ago, Wideners had .400" Sierra jacketed hollow-point bullets in stock.

They may have had others; once I found those I stopped looking.
