“Worst of all, I’m white and posting on a right wing political extremist website at four in the morning.”

Just don’t let yourself be misled by the highly inaccurate concept of the political “spectrum.” Meaning the whole left/right thing.

A more accurate dichotomy is: the statist view (which believes government solves everything and should be allowed to make any rules it feels like imposing) vs that of the traditional American (limited government and basic mainstream values).

FreeRepublic is not extremist in the values or principles it supports, which are merely everyday mainstream principles.

FreeRepublic is misunderstood to be politically extremist because its members are both intensely outspoken and more focused on the details of any given political matter.

For example, the reason so many posters here are taking a serious look at the Obama birth certificate problem is that we are more inclined than the average person to seek greater depth and detail than can be found in an online document or an “official” statement made here or there by bureaucrats and congressmen.

“For example, the reason so many posters here are taking a serious look at the Obama birth certificate problem”

...is that 0bama won’t release the !@#$in’ original! Clearly there’s an issue, or why not? (Now, my pet theory is that he was born in Hawaii, but he’s listed as “Muslim” under Religion, so it wouldn’t matter in terms of the election’s legality - after all the Republican Governor of Hawaii did supposedly ‘vet’ the certificate.) I find it very disturbing that so many in government apparently see the “natural born citizen” clause as meaningless - it was designed to prevent those with malice towards America or ties with another government from taking office.

At any rate, it’s yet another example of 0bama’s stunning hypocrisy with regard to ‘transparency’.

Perfect post! I am including a video for all to educate the masses about forms of govt. If you have not seen it, please watch, and use it to help educate those who don’t know. It is excellent!

The video is a description of the 5 supposed forms of government, from 100% government control (Communism, fascism, totalitarianism etc) to 0% government (anarchy) it obliterates all forms of government as only temporary and futile except for 2, oligarchy and republic. It does this in a clear concise manner, which effectively shows even a grade schooler about them. It then, in the last few moments, explains Rome, its beginning as a republic, and its morph into a democracy. The parallels are well put, and clearly where this country is today. It is an excellent way to spread the word to those who have never been taught proper history, and that is alot of people since they have been re writing it for so long now.

I have been posting this sucker all over all day, and sometimes I forget that some are stuck at work, so I have included the above basic description of the video, however it does not do the video justice. I beg, implore and urge all to view it who have not. THIS is the reason we are so angry. Taxes are a symptom, losing our republic is the disease!!!!!

“Just don’t let yourself be misled by the highly inaccurate concept of the political ‘spectrum.’”

It’s not so much that the right/left thing is inaccurate. It is in the case of the Nazis, who are commonly placed on the wrong side. Also, it is when people try to define what’s “left” and what’s “right” using anachronistic standards.

For the political spectrum had a defite meaning in its inception, and it stands up to this day. If but people correctly understood it. The left is supposed to be the champion of the central government at the expense of private authority—for instance the aristocracy, the family, the church, or businessmen. The right is supposed to be the champion of limiting the power of the central government in favor of private authority.

Libertarians and libertines are tought to jam in, since they don’t like central or private authority. For what it’s worth, I prefer the securitarian/libertarian dichotomy. But the old one still has some life in it. All they have to do is drop the ridiculous illusion that Ron Paul is a watered-down version of the Ayatollah.
