WASHINGTON (CNN) Meghan McCain warned a group of gay Republicans Saturday that there was "a war brewing in the Republican Party" a war between the past and the future.
"Most of the old school Republicans are scared s***less of that future," she told a gathering of the Log Cabin Republicans, a group of gay and lesbian party members.
The 24-year-old daughter of former GOP presidential candidate John McCain pushed back against critics upset over her comments to CNN that she wanted President Obama to succeed, and played down her recent headline-grabbing feuds with conservative commentators Ann Coulter and Laura Ingraham. "I did not expect my frustration with what I perceive to be overly partisan and divisive Republicans to cause a national incident," she said.
"I feel too many Republicans want to cling to past successes
I think we're seeing a war brewing in the Republican Party," she said. "But it is not between us and Democrats. It is not between us and liberals. It is between the future and the past

Everytime she speaks I can’t stand her more and more.
Her dad is the past. The failed, big-tent past. The failed compassionate-conservative past. We are the future. The no-nonsense conservatives, who stand on principle. Unwilling to compromise with socialists.
At 24, she’s the LAST person we should be hearing from....but, she’s a useful tool for the Left.
The lib media is loving this.
I really hate to say this but... This is what folks get for voting LOTE. McCain should have been resoundingly crushed in November. Instead, all the LOTE voters emboldened the RINOs into thinking that they still have a chance. Stop voting for Republicans just because they are Republicans. Vote for conservatives who believe in less government and more freedom, and don't be afraid to vote third-party if necessary. |

Did you bubble in McCain-Palin last November? If you did, then you failed to stand on principle.
Now, if you wrote in Palin, on the other hand, then you did just fine.
If anyone needs to be scared, it’s Meghan. The most unloved thing in the world is a liberal republican. They get no love from conservatives or liberals. If they did the liberals would’ve voted for McCain and he’d be president.
She’s in the group that is the most endangered species club. There are plent more conservatives than liberal repubs. You can just drop the whole lot of these RINOs in the democrat party and there’s absolutely no difference.
who is meghan mccain?
Meghan sweetie, who was it that handed the GOP the really big loss last year??? Hmmmmmm?
The lib media is orchestrating this. She is a woman with no experience or qualifications. She is a creation of the MSM.
Everything about her screams liberal. I don’t know why she even pretends. She is asking people to give up the principles that they have and that make this country great to be “hip and cool” as she puts it. No wonder my generation is looked upon like a bunch of losers.
NOW I understand why Sarah Palin and Meghan never got along. Before I didn’t get it but now I do. Meghan doesn’t like her because Sarah is against gay marriage, pro-life, and pro 2nd amendment. Meghan is an embarrassment.
And her speech at the LCR is even more evidence she’s a lesbian. Given her overt hetero-bashing of anyone against gays, it’s pretty clear she is.
Her defense of gays and attacks on those who don’t approve of their lifestyle choices is a good indication she is.
Ah, the wisdom of a 24-year-old combined with the arrogance of a McCain...
John McCain meanwhile reminds me more and more of the Admiral McCain who, during the Battle of Leyte Gulf, steamed off over the horizon in search of a Jap fleet that wasn’t there...
Meghan is beyond embarrassment. She is a Vichy RINO winning to sell conservatism out to be "cool."
At least Sarah seemed like a normal person. Too bad she hitched her political reputation to Senator McQueeg.
“...Oh, really?”
To get into Mommy's Yacht Club and be seen at all the right parties, she needs to be seen as a Republican.
