With many Americans outraged at the various federal bailouts and further taxing, some are taking their opinions to the streets.
TEA (Taxed Enough Already) party demonstrations are popping up in the area, and local business owner and president of Dominion Mortgage and Financial Services Lowell Macher has been a regular attendee.
I went down to Atlanta for a TEA demonstration and I went to the gathering in Anderson, Macher said. On Friday, I will be heading to Greenville to protest again.
But these demonstrations very much mirror a classic grassroots movement, as attitudes are split as to whether these protests could rally any change in government.
(U.S. House of Representatives) Speaker Pelosi calls us extremists, Macher said. Were just normal tax paying citizens who have decided weve had enough. If you asked me before, I would have told you that Im not the type of person to protest, but these gatherings are full of professional people who want the government to stop with the immense regulation.
In addition, Macher feels that the government could regulate him out of business, forcing him to downsize instead of being able to grow.
I have no choice but to pay my taxes and in turn not be able to hire other people, he said. It isnt something that this country needs.
And while Macher has plenty of expertise in the financial fields, he firmly believes that the corporations that have received bailout dollars should not have.
If Im a small business spending more than Im taking in and I get bailed out, I should have two options, he said. Either cut expenses or sell off assets. AIG should have been liquidated. There are plenty of good companies that would have picked up part of their shares. Bank of America is a perfect example of when they bought Merrill Lynch. These are deals for them.
But Marc Cooper, contributor for the Huffington Post, adamantly disagrees with the TEA Party demonstrations.
These protests are really off the wall because theyre completely out of sync with a historic moment where people are now looking to government, much as they did in the 1930s, for solutions, Cooper said. Theres a minority thats going to oppose that, but thats not where the center of the gravity is in the country.
As a rebuttal, Macher summed up a solution to avoid the heavy taxing.
Free enterprises will fix themselves, he said. We need patience and the ability to handle a little pain. Just like an addiction, our society needs to get accustomed to spending less.
stupid libtards. WTG SC, my old town, Anderson!!
.
The video is a description of the 5 supposed forms of government, from 100% government control (Communism, facism, totalitarianism etc) to 0% government (anarchy) it obliteraties all forms of government as only temporary and futile except for 2, olgiarchy and republic. It does this in a clear concise manner, which effectively shows even a grade schooler about them. It then, in the last few moments, explains Rome, its beginning as a republic, and its morph into a democracy. The parallels are well put, and clearly where this country is today. It is an excellent way to spread the word to those who have never been taught proper history, and that is alot of people since they have been re writing it for so long now.
I have been posting this sucker all over all day, and sometimes I forget that some are stuck at work, so I have included the above basic description of the video, however it does not do the video justice. I beg, implore and urge all to view it who have not. THIS is the reason we are so angry. Taxes are a symptom, losing our republic is the disease!!!!!

“completely out of sync with a historic moment”
No I don’t think we are. We see what is ahead because we are the producers in socienty while you are part of the people who think they should get pie for doing nothing. Time for reality, if you don’t work, you don’t eat, simple!
They are scared shitless.
mark for later
