Camouflaged Hate Crimes Bill to Pass in House Committee
The Voice Magazine ^ | April 18, 2009 | Brian Burke

The new H.R. 1913, named the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Act of 2009 is camouflaged because it seemingly provides protection for hate crimes against race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or those with disabilities. But some suspect it will be primarily used to service one special group.

This bill is about making violent crimes of any kind, but especially against homosexuals, a federal crime as well as a local one. It begs the questions, "Is this really necessary? Do we need more legislation to protect a special group? Aren't current laws against violence sufficient to prosecute violent crimes? and aren't all violent crimes hate crimes?"

The answer is no according to openly gay Congressmen Barney Franks who said in a press release, “I am proud to have participated in drafting a Hate Crimes Bill that is fully respectful of the rights of free speech and association, but also offers ...

It used to be described as ‘sex’.

Now it’s ‘gender, sexual orientation, gender identity’?

Yes, and Yes.

The left likes layer upon layer of overlapping laws.

It makes them easier to misuse and apply where it was not intended when they want to do it.

The worst aspect is this bill adds yet another bit of federal usurpation of what was always a state issue. The federal government continually over-reaches its Constitutional authority using the emotional argument of the moment as justification.

Ah yes, the Thought Police.

Orwell was way ahead of his time Comrades.

Now you can't hurt anyone's feelings. I guess if you call a Liberal a Liberal, they can arrest you. Liberals don't like “labels” you know.

Wasn't there a Pastor somewhere, I can't remember if it was Holland or where, but was jailed for preaching against homosexuality?
Coming to a church near you, I'm afraid.

It would be well to remind the CongressCritters that government authority ends at the church doors. While most of us would never endorse going out of our way to defame or injure anyone based on ethnicity or gender, the fact is that the US has more explicit rights than many other countries. Just as churches have no authority to control government, neither has government any authority to control or limit religion or religious expression. So sorry, Charlie...

I knew it, I knew it...
SEC. 2. FINDINGS.
(6) Such violence substantially affects interstate commerce in many ways, including the following:
(A) The movement of members of targeted groups is impeded, and members of such groups are forced to move across State lines to escape the incidence or risk of such violence. (Bull! outright LIE)

(B) Members of targeted groups are prevented from purchasing goods and services, obtaining or sustaining employment, or participating in other commercial activity.(Bull! outright LIE)

(C) Perpetrators cross State lines to commit such violence. (Bull! outright LIE)

(D) Channels, facilities, and instrumentalities of interstate commerce are used to facilitate the commission of such violence. (Bull! outright LIE)

(E) Such violence is committed using articles that have traveled in interstate commerce. (Bull! outrightLIE)

Congress has already been warned by SCOTUS in previous cases where junk like this was overturned, that not everything pertains to Interstate Commerce and to stop ABUSING the the Commerce Clause. Did they get the message, do they care, NO!

If this thing is passed and singed into law someone (group) needs to file suit ASAP so it will get to SCOTUS. This abuse of the Commerce Clause HAS TO STOP dammit!

People pass laws against that which they fear. Those who were outcasts in our pre-1960 civilization have through heavy propaganda been elevated into positions of authority. They obviously fear the reaction on the part of the Anglo American to their governance, hence hate crime laws. The closest analogue to current "hate crime" laws were those medieval enactments portecting Lords and High Church men. Rest assured those currently in authority will bungle as it is their very nature.

Well, it's time that I think we all can agree that homosexuals are a vital precious natural resource that needs to be defended and protected for future generations to enjoy.

Isn't that the type of psychological spin babble they always give us whether it's the environment or something else - sounds like brain washing to me? But, how could this be? Our very own government or it's political parties participating in brainwashing, how could we think of such a thing? (Hint; they've been doing it for the last 50 years.)

Yup. Crafted with the assistance of CAIR, La Raza etc.

If Obama signs this and someone gets criminally charged - the defendant will be able to demand his BC and proof of his eligibility.
