PORTSMOUTH When Christopher Duhan kicked open the back door of a Seabrook residence to commit a Monday afternoon burglary, he was met by the lady of the house who chased him off with her handgun, according to police.
Duhan, 28, of 147 Ashworth Ave., Hampton Beach, was arraigned Tuesday in Portsmouth District Court on a felony count of burglary. According to an affidavit by officer Scott Mendes, Seabrook patrol officers were dispatched to a B Street residence at 12:30 p.m. Monday, for an "active" daytime burglary. The homeowner told police she was about to take a shower when she heard "loud crashing," so she grabbed her pistol and came face-to-face with the intruder, who she recognized as Duhan, a drug-dependent friend of a family member, according to court documents.
Gun in hand, the homeowner told Duhan she was calling the police before he fled across Route 1, police allege. Based on a clothing and vehicle description, Seabrook police arrested Duhan at a Hampton hotel where he has been residing, according to the affidavit.
While seeking high cash bail, Mendes told the court that Duhan was on bail for two counts of receiving stolen property and was just arraigned for a second-offense charge of driving while intoxicated when he attempted to burglarize the Seabrook home. He has no fixed address and "is an addict," Mendes told the court.
Reminding Duhan he was on bail mandating his good behavior, Judge Sawako Gardner ordered him held on $10,000 cash bail. He is scheduled to appear in Hampton District Court for an April 27 probable cause hearing.
Not sure if you’re familiar with Seabrook, NH. The resident population is known as “Brookers” and they have, shall we say, a “unique” culture.
Assume this is Portsmouth NH, as opposed to VA, OH, OR, Hampshire?
She should have just opened fire when she confronted him in her house, and put two in his chest, and ending once and for al;l, the suffering this DemoCriminl was putting on all the people he came imnto contact with. It would have saved the state and the People, the lifetime costs of trying, and housing this animal, his future victims, and the cost of keeping him in prisonuntil some DemoCriminal politician like Hillary Clinton, gets him out, and gigves him the vote, to put more DemoCriminal politicians in office, in between his crime sprees.
You assume correctly.
We need to fix that last bit to: Criminal dies from excessive bleeding.
Make sure he is on vinyl first. Blood you know.
This news report MUST be a lie!

The same thought crossed my mind when I read Duhan was on bail for two counts of receiving stolen property and was just arraigned for a second-offense charge of driving while intoxicated when he attempted to burglarize the Seabrook home.
Why, then, was this guy loose? (rhetorical) Our j udicial system is so screwed up citizens HAVE to arm themselves.
I’m surprised they let him have bail for this second offense, when he was allready out on bail. He should have had his first bail revoked, and his second request denied, based on the fact that he is a menace and a continuing danger to society. and be kept in prison till his trials and se4ntencings were adjudicated.
RE: “But Diane Sawyer assured me that nobody could possibly use a gun to defend themselves from a criminal! I saw it on 20/20!
This news report MUST be a lie!”
********
Yes, I, too, am pleased to learn one property owner with a gun for protection was able to summon up the courage to threaten an intruder and didn’t screw it up!
I would like to think I’d have gone ahead and shot the guy, assuming he was INside my house.
Sorry, Diane Sawyer, you are wrong again!
