Goldwater ran on a federalist platform supporting small, limited government and personal rights and responsibilities. That's what the GOP needs to get back to. If it doesn't it will become an irrelevant, regional party of rednecks and hillbillies.
The homosexual agenda changed him. Once you hook up with that agenda, you lose all your freedom-oriented principles. You must, because there is no greater internal assault on our nation's freedoms than the homosexual “rights” movement.

Same-sex “marriage” is an attack on limited government and personal rights, not a defense thereof.
It is primarily intended to restrict religious freedom.
I'll take that any day over the party of Steve Schmidt and John McCain. And just because Schmidt has a lesbian sister he is trying to please doesn't mean I have to change my beliefs!
How did that John McCain presidential campaign do again?! Oh yeah, he got beat by a community organizer who doesn't have a damn clue!
Hmmm...nope I can’t recall a President Goldwater; and I was alive then.
Since personal rights and responsibilities are founded in the Constitution, that is a good foundation. The problem that you either don’t see or don’t want to see, or are seeing and pretending it isn’t there, is that “gay” rights is founded on the destruction of personal rights, responsibilities and the very principles upon which this country was founded.
