In Texas, 31% Say State Has Right to Secede From U.S., But 75% Opt To Stay
Rasmussen Reports ^

Thirty-one percent (31%) of Texas voters say that their state has the right to secede from the United States and form an independent country.
However, the latest Rasmussen Reports poll in the state finds that if the matter was put to a vote, it wouldnt even be close. Three-fourths (75%) of Lone Star State voters would opt to remain in the United States. Only 18% would vote to secede, and seven percent (7%) are not sure what they'd choose.

I’m pretty sure they did. But so did Virginia and I want to say a few others when they signed the original Constitution. But even if they hadn’t, it isn’t a power that is denied to them and therefore they reserve the right to secede through the 10th Amendment.

What you post is not a poll. I know, it's rough. You have to click the link.
Then you have to click another link, of all things.
Then you have to spot the poll.
It's just too damn much I say!

now theres an unpragmatic view. what do you think the response would be, an invasion? You may recall from the history books that Texas did leave the Union back in 1861 and four years later was forced by gunpoint back into the Union.
And when Texas did re-join the Union in 1865 it did not have the option to secede in the future.

Texans are too stupid to realize that their state cannot secede from the Union. Wanna bet?

Yes, I clicked on the link and it does not lead to a scientific poll.
See: Scientific Sampling Methodology.

I thought when Texas joined the union, it got a pre-nup and reserved the right to secede.
To: humblegunner
Please provide the documentation that states that Texas can secede from the Union.

Please provide the documentation that states that Texas can secede from the Union. It's right below the documentation that says we can't.
Honestly.. do you reckon we need PERMISSION?

A poll with 500 people, wow, why am I not impressed by this? Yes, that would be a poll with a Margin of Error of 4.38%.

And leaving the Union worked out so well for Texas back in 1861!
And if Texas did leave the Union, it would be a nation where whites were in the minority.
