Just be careful.
With the memo she put out about the Tea Party protests and returning vets being considered possible terrorists, it’s obvious they have an agenda.
And no, before anyone asks, I don’t think she simply misstated.
I think she meant every word she said and said less than she wanted to in her memo.
Even if not malicious, it belies a world view which simply equates “rightwing” (and defining characteristics thereof) with “dangerous”. A tiny and hand-picked sampling of a half-dozen examples selected across 15 years does not make for good risk analysis. The author simply cannot differentiate between meaningful causality and vague correllation; seeing a couple bigotry-invoking labels attached to a few rare instances, she broadly condemns millions of citizens who share commonly-held persuasions yet are nowhere close to being a threat.
This is not a risk analysis. This is demonization of a subculture in preparation for a purge; history shows this pattern repeatedly. If anything, it is a self-fulfilling prophecy: marginalize and oppress a group sufficiently, and they will eventually push back.
